Here you will find a list of frequently asked questions we answer in advance as a way to ease your concerns before visiting. If there is something specific you are interested in knowing but cannot find it addressed, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I have my prescription refilled without seeing a physician?
We do advise our patients to come in to have their prescription refilled which we also see as an opportunity to address any other health concerns. Plus, there is a pharmacy onsite.
If I’m not feeling well, is there someone I can speak to after hours?
Please call 811 to talk to someone about your symptoms and they will give you your next necessary steps. In the case of an emergency, please call 911.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment at the last minute?
Our policy is that any cancellations be made 24hrs prior to appointment so we are able to fit in people who need to see the doctor at the last minute. We know life happens, but kindly give us a call if you have to cancel last minute. However, if this is reoccurring, we will let you know.
Can I get a referral to a specialist?
Yes, we have a network of Specialists we can refer you to when the need arises.
Can I get my test results over the phone?
Yes, but we strongly suggest to come in to review your test results with your physician. You are also able to raise further questions when you come in which you won’t be able to do over the phone. Please call our reception to schedule an appointment.
Can I see a physician if I’m from another province/country?
Yes you can. Kindly bring with you a government approved Identification and a valid health card. If you are from the Province of Quebec, you will need to pay cash upfront before seeing a physician.
How is EMC different from hospital emergency rooms or other medical centres?
Elixir Medical Centres are distinguished by our team of dedicated medical professionals, urgent care directly in patients’ neighbourhoods. We strive to decrease wait times in a clean and welcoming environment. For non-life-threatening medical needs, Elixir Medical Centres is a better option where you are sure to get continuity of care for your entire family.
What should I bring with me to my appointment?
Kindly bring a Valid AHC card to your first appointment with a valid government approved identity card. For third party services, you will have to bring in exact cash which you will be told about at the time of booking an appointment.
Are you accepting new patients?
Not currently accepting. We will let you know if we are accepting.
Can I come in for a meet and greet?
Our Physicians are not currently accepting patients.
Will the wait be long to see a medical professional?
Our goal at Elixir Medical Centres is to get patients in and treated within an hour. We understand that your time is valuable, so we offer services to enable you to minimize your wait time.
If I haven’t been treated right, how do I let the management know?
We are sorry you have gone through that experience. Please feel free to email our office management, who will respond in a prompt manner.
